The Number One Word is Respect!
The piano lab is a shared classroom, and the classes I teach are scheduled during Mrs. Gardner's planning time. It is of the utmost importance that you are neat, quiet and respectful.
Our electric keyboards are not thirsty. Please do not brink drinks, food or gum anywhere near the pianos. Don't just "forget." Electricity plus water equals bad things.
The temperature in the piano lab is very delicate and variable. DO NOT TOUCH THE WINDOWS! If the lighting is bothering you, raise your hand and let me know. Also, always bring a sweater as the piano lab usually leans towards the colder side of the spectrum.
Treat our headphones like they are 100 diamonds dipped in gold. That's about how expensive they are to us. Many are old and will fall apart on their own. If this happens, don't just put them back and pretend it didn't happen. We have the ability to stitch them back together if we can find all the parts, but some of the parts are very small and you might be the only one who can help us find them!
